Structural Design Engineer (Buildings)

Role and Expectations: Contributes to earning the confidence of our clients through practical and timely engineering solutions, employing good communication skills, operating with flexibility, and exhibiting an ‘ease to work with’ relationship. Model company’s vision as an example to other employees and clients.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Have a passion for Structural Engineering.
  • Have taken, or on-track to attain a Professional Engineer licensure.
  • Perform specific and/or limited portions of broader assignments for licensed Engineers on projects receiving close supervision.
  • Develop engineering knowledge of Codes, Design Standards, Material Standards, and software for the analysis of many different structure types.
  • Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and specifications.
  • Perform construction administration tasks (submittal reviews, RFI’s, code review responses, etc.) under the supervision of a licensed Engineer.
  • Coordinate assignments with others to maintain overall project schedule.
  • Demonstrate continued and progressive technical development.
  • Conduct construction observation under direction of supervisor(s).
  • Willingness to ask questions and constructively discuss issues.
  • As experience progresses, attend project meetings and involvement with Clients with the emphasis on being helpful to the Client.
  • Build client relationships.

Recommended Education / Training: BSCE or MSCE
